NovAria Artists

On November 26th, 2014, with the desire of bringing operas and lyrical shows to the general public, Sergi Gimenez Carreras, the tenor and artistic director, created the first Opera Series held at the unique and special Palau de la Música Catalana, which offers, year after year, the most acclaimed and representative operas worldwide.

In 2015, after the success of the Opera Series, Sergi founded Novaria Artists, a music production company.

With the aim to create its own identity and sound, in 2019 a cycle of symphonic concerts by the NovAria Filharmonia Orchestra, created and founded by music director Adolf Gassol, will be added to the productions. The concerts, which complement the program, are the result of collaborations with several orchestras from all over the territory where thirty highly experienced musicians from the OBC, the Liceu Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Andorra and the Baroque Orchestra of Barcelona, ​​among others participate.
The setting for the productions and concerts is the stage of the Sala de Concerts of the Palau de la Música Catalana, the emblematic building of the city designed by the architect Domènech i Montaner, which provides the operatic shows with an atmosphere and a scenography so characteristic, and which has marked the conception and staging of all the shows that the production company has created especially for the Palau.
Year after year, the NovAria Opera Series produces the great titles of the European staged sung music tradition, which are treated with care to offer an opera adapted to modern times- adjusted to an approximate duration of 2 hours plus intermission- and with a classic staging that transports the viewer to the time in which the piece was createed. One of the particularities of these productions is the situation of the orchestra, which is located in front of the singers, where it is perfectly integrated into the scene.
